08.11.06 - Loretta Lynn's Update
Loretta Lynn's = the largest amateur national of the year. It is an honor to even be able to compete. I walked into this years race with my goals set high. As we rolled into our camp ground at the tracks the rains were coming down; however, they Loretta Lynn's crew did a great job of track prep and by race day they track was prefect.
As many of you may know the Women's class at Loretta Lynn's is littered with Pros. I was honored to be competing against some of the fastest women riders in the world. I ended up battle for a tenth place overall finish going 9-10-9. More impressive, however, I felt was my ability to campete with the Pros and come out on top as the highest placing amateur in the women's class. I am looking forward to training hard and taking the next step in my career.
Keep checking back, as I should have some photos posted from Loretta's soon. |

06.12.06 - Loretta Lynn's Regional Qualifier
This weekend we loaded up the toy hauler and heading to Glen Helen Raceway for the Regional Loretta Lynn's Qualifier. This was my first race back sense my elbow injury. All in all, I road ok. In both moto 1 and 2 I got two 5th place finishes. Sadly, only the top five qualify, so I was on the bubble going into the 3rd moto. When the gate dropped I got a great jump and grabbed the holeshot. I put up a fight the rest of the moto, but in the end Katie MacQuire, Alisa Nix, and J. Strong would all get around me. That put me in 4th in the 3rd moto and luckily in a qualifying position. |

05.25.06 - Injury Update
First of all, happy memorial day to everyone!
Now, to the injury report. The results from my MRI came up negative and I was giving a clean bill of health. I am, however, going to be taking off a week or two to allow my body to heal up completely. I have been bouncing from one injury to another the past few months and it will be nice to take some time off, heal up, and be 100% healthy when I get back on the bike. See yeah at the races!

05.20.06 - Hangtown Update
Well, it looks as though I am not going to be able to make it to round 2 of the WMA series at Hangtown. Sadly, I went to the doctor on Tuesday, and he advised me not to ride because I could do further damage to my already injured elbow. I have another appointment on Saturday to get a MRI and find out what exactly is wrong. I will keep everyone posted on the outcome. |

05.14.06 - Prequel: Round 1 of the WMA Series at Glen Helen Raceway
Man, are good starts important! In moto 1 I got off the gate late, putting myself about mid pack. I found myself fighting through a highly competitive pack of girls! I was bummed out because my speed was fast enough to run with the leaders, but by the time I battled my way into 3rd the leaders had checked out! Moto 1 finished with Jacqueline Strong in 1st, Kristen Oja in 2nd, myself in 3rd, Meika Cornelius in 4th, and Taylor Miller in 5th.
For moto 2 I got off the line much better and found myself in 3rd or 4th coming out of Glen Helen's sweeping right first turn. I guess luck was once again not on my side; a girl went down right in front of me as we were heading up one of the Glen Helen hills. I tried to avoid hitting her, but as I did someone came and hit me from behind--knocking us both down. So I found myself in the back of the pack again! GRRRRR! Well, I remounted my 250f and charged. As the checkers waved, I had moved into 6th just behind Taylor Miller and Meika.
In the end it was Jacqueline Strong (1-1), taking the overall. She was followed by Kristen Oja (2-2), Meika Cornelius (4-3), myself (3-6), and Sara Price (7-3). |
